Warm Homes Loan Scheme opens finance route for solar, batteries and heat pumps

The Warm Homes Loan Scheme adds a finance route for household solar, batteries and heat pumps, according to the government’s factsheet dated 27th October 2026.

Current position

The UK-wide offer initially involves ten lenders. Products and repayment terms vary, and normal affordability, credit and eligibility checks apply. Applications go through participating lenders or installers.

Why this matters

Council advice teams can consider the scheme when helping residents navigate home upgrades. Finance availability does not establish that a particular installation will save money.

Next steps

Check current product terms, total repayments and grant interactions. The factsheet requires MCS-certified installers except for heat-network connections. Government savings examples are estimates, not guaranteed household outcomes.
