Vale of White Horse District Council is seeking answers about the proposed Cearn Solar Farm and the cumulative effects of major infrastructure projects in the district.

The proposal could cover around 2,800 acres across three areas near local villages. The council's 23 October release says the development application has not yet been submitted.

The anticipated national infrastructure process would place examination with the Planning Inspectorate and the decision with the Secretary of State, with the district council acting as a statutory consultee.

The council supports renewable generation while raising questions about local accountability and community impacts. The announcement concerns a proposal and council response, rather than a planning approval.
