Cardiff arts charity g39 is seeking a principal contractor for an integrated energy upgrade at its warehouse premises. The maximum project budget is £108,000.

Current position

The proposed system includes around 20 kWp of rooftop solar, battery storage, an electric van and charging equipment, air-to-air heat pumps and coordinated energy controls. It aims to replace fossil-fuel heating and enable more year-round community use. Contract award depends on final funding confirmation and procurement approvals.

Why this matters

The scope brings generation, storage, transport and heating together at one community site. These are planned works rather than a completed installation, and energy or carbon savings have not yet been demonstrated.

Next steps

Tenders are due by 5pm on 9th November 2026. Installation, commissioning, handover and final invoicing must finish by 31st March 2027. The clarification deadline has already passed. Suppliers should use the official notice and tender documents for the remaining requirements.
