Code of Conduct
Respectful conversations. Honest contributions. Constructive collaboration.
Raise a concernA community built on respect
Net Zero Club brings public-sector project owners, delivery organisations and contributors together to share knowledge and move projects forward. This code sets out the behaviour we expect when taking part in Club discussions, contributions, networking and events.
Treat people with respect
Be courteous, listen to different perspectives and make room for others to contribute. Challenge ideas constructively. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, threats and abusive behaviour have no place in the Club.
Share knowledge honestly
Be clear about your role, organisation and relevant commercial interests. Support project claims with evidence, distinguish experience from opinion and acknowledge uncertainty. Do not imply that participation is an endorsement, procurement award or guarantee of business.
Respect privacy and permission
Ask before sharing another person’s contact details, confidential information or unpublished material. Respect requests about photographs, recordings and attribution, and follow any event-specific recording guidance.
Keep networking constructive
Make introductions relevant and welcome. Respect a person’s decision to decline a conversation, meeting or follow-up. Avoid persistent unsolicited contact, pressure selling and using community discussions primarily for promotion.
Contribute responsibly
Share material you have permission to use, credit sources and avoid misleading statements or unsupported accusations. Follow the Club’s editorial standards when proposing articles, project examples or other content.
Raise a concern
If you experience or witness behaviour that concerns you, email Lee at lee@net-zero.scot. Include the relevant event, discussion or page, a brief description and how you would prefer to be contacted. At an event, you can also speak to the organising team. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services.
How concerns are handled
We will consider concerns in context and may ask for further information. Depending on the circumstances, we may request a change in behaviour, moderate or remove content, or restrict participation. Any action should be proportionate and consistent with applicable event terms and agreements. Information will be shared only as needed to understand and respond to the concern.
Using this code
This code supports a constructive community. Event-specific instructions and separate booking, partnership or other commercial terms may also apply. It does not replace those agreements or the website Terms of Use.
